“I received my PhD. in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh (UK) in 2005.  Following that I spent two years at the National University of Singapore as a research fellow, before joining the English Literature Department at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), where I have worked for the past 14 years. During my time at Nanyang Technological University, I served as chair of the post-graduate committee as well as deputy head of the English department. I have ample experience in the graduate and post-graduate studies application process, having been on both sides of it. I have also supervised and examined multiple research and thesis projects that range from undergraduate to post-graduate level. My main areas of focus are the humanities at large, English and American literature, Asian literature written in English, contemporary writing, women’s writing and literature, feminist theory and criticism, critical theory, literary theory, gender and sexuality studies. I continue to be active in research and publication and am constantly keeping up to date with the latest research trends in my field. ”
